Axon Moore has been engaged to recruit a junior investment analyst for a well-known investment bank based in Manchester city centre. This role sits within our client`s prestigious investment analyst team and promises superb career progression and prospects for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for evaluating prospective investments for the firm. To do this you will use your SQL and Excel expertise to analyse the data behind each investment and build a model evaluating its future profitability. You will then create a business case and present it to senior stakeholders who will make purchasing decisions based on your analysis.
This role will suit a graduate/2-3 year post graduate who is highly numerate and has a passion for providing analysis and insight to a business that ultimately drives value creation. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and keen to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleansing, formatting and inputting data into a usable format using SQL
- Building investment valuation models within Excel
- Forecasting future investment profitability within Excel
- Preparing information memorandums detailing the results of your analysis ready to present to the board
- Fielding technical questions on your analysis and any assumptions you`ve used
- UK/European Travel on a monthly basis as and when required to carry out your duties
The ideal candidate will be:
- Holder of a STEM degree/post graduate qualification
- Highly competent in Excel and SQL
- Familiar with discounted cashflow and other investment valuation models
- Experienced in building quantitative models
- An enthusiastic, gregarious personality type who is keen to learn
- Finance background is preferable, but not essential
