As a Management Accountant, your primary role will be to work alongside the Senior Management Accountant in providing a comprehensive management accounting service to customers. You will also be developing an Assistant whilst providing business partnering support to department heads to improve finance understanding.

The client is a well-established Group of Organisations in the Property and Housing industry, based in Poole. They are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join the team.

Description

As a Management Accountant, your primary responsibilities will be:

Leadership

  • To assist in leading, developing and motivating the assistant management accountants.
  • Create and maintain systems that provide for continuing development through professional courses, internal training and secondment.
  • Encourage cross-department working and fertilisation to provide support during peak periods
  • Operational

  • Production of periodic management accounts (including commentary) for one of the Group subsidiary companies.
  • Produce a monthly variance analysis report and attend review meetings with budget holders
  • Provide detailed analysis as required, to improve budget holders' understanding of their progress year to date
  • Identify major variances and provide information to the senior management accountant on what actions are being taken
  • Take ownership of the balance sheet recs completed within our team ensuring all recs are accurate and complete.
  • Assist in the annual Budget and Financial Plan preparation for submission to Group Leadership Team and Boards in accordance with Group timetable
  • Assist with the preparation of the statutory accounts in accordance with the Group's timetable, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and stakeholder requirements
  • Profile

    To be successful in your application, you will have:

    • Experience producing monthly Management Accounts and Budgets
    • Staff management and supervisory experience
    • Experience with statutory accounts preparation
    • Experience in working closely to achieve desired outcomes with budget holders at all levels
    • Actively studying ACCA/CIMA or suitably QBE
