McArthur River Mine (MRM) is one of the world’s largest Zinc, Lead and Silver deposits and is the largest supplier of Bulk Concentrate to the world market. Currently, this world class ‘Here’s Your Chance’ deposit has a long 20-year mine life.


We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Shutdown Planner . You will be working in a team environment that shares knowledge and skills and have exposure to challenging work that will enhance your career development.



Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):


Monitor and report progress for a Shutdown event throughout the planning phase.
Reviewing work plans developed by the work management planners to ensure sequencing within plans is correct, and supports technical and process development of the broader team
Delivering sequenced work packages for complex shutdown maintenance activities throughout the planning phase.
Planning work in accordance with the ellipse work management process, accurately identifying the required components and resources prior to scheduling
Monitor all contractor work activities to ensure efficient and cost effective use of resources
Reviewing data trends across an equipment class to identify inherent issues common across equipment classes.
Leveraging an integrated, standardized planning process, and identify opportunities for standardisation across sites.
Planning and forecasting of maintenance requirements.
Provide additional ellipse support to reliability team members, assisting to up-skill team members in ellipse usage and the APL & MST Process.
Promote sustainability of Work Management while identifying improvement opportunities that increase the reliability of plant and equipment.
Coach personnel in the disciplined use of performance measures, organisation design, standards, processes, local operating procedures, systems and data.
Review OEM data for applicable reliability maintenance strategies. Provide analysis and recommendations where required to help improve equipment reliability/availability and reduce business costs.
Effective management of safety incidents by ensuring that incidents and hazards are identified, reported, investigated and managed.
Lead, coach and mentor team members and other employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team.
Support best practice through developing and embedding of functional systems, monitoring key performance measures and sustaining continuous improvement processes.
Ensure conformance with the Glencore Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.

To secure this role you will need to have :


A Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification is preferred, along with experience using Ellipse or similar computer based maintenance planning system.
Extensive maintenance planning experience with fixed plant equipment.
Excellent knowledge of planned maintenance procedures, budgeting & cost control.
Good computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project.
Demonstrates a good understanding of tracking shutdown performance against plan and use of S Curves to track area performance.
A strong safety focus with knowledge of relevant OH&S legislation.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
You will be a strong facilitator, with good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a number of key stakeholders in order to agree on Shutdown scope.
Demonstrated hands on planning and scheduling skills and an understanding of work management processes.
Excellent communication skills and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple key stakeholders.
An experience in shutdowns will be highly regarded.
Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills.
An understanding of condition monitoring and asset health principles.
The ability to multi task and monitor data trends across an equipment class.
The ability to drive performance in a team.
