Health Fund Validation Officer

About the role


Applicatins are sought for a Health Fund Validation Officer to join our Patient Services team at Calvary Wakefield Hospital



With organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks, you will perform a broad range of administrative duties within the validation role. You will be highly committed to providing excellent customer service.



What you bring


Possessing experience in a health fund setting is essential and familiarity with IPM software desirable you will have the ability to work under pressure and maintain good working relations with others. You will have a sound knowledge of medical terminology and demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.



Key Duties



  • Ensure Health Insurance Fund verification procedure is performed prior to patient's planned admission including the verification of those inpatients admitted through the Emergency Centre and non-planned admissions.

  • Appropriate information regarding patients cover entered in to iPM.

  • Entering of Provisional DRG codes in iPM

  • Preparation of quotes for self-insured patients in consultation with accounts receivable.

  • Obtain approval from WorkCover, third party and DVA, prior to patient's admission.

  • Printing and collating of Estimate of Expense and Informed Financial consent forms.

  • Follow up with various health funds regarding patients cover.

  • Advise patients of monies owed on admission.

  • Opportunity to cover planned leave in the role of Patient Services Supervisor

  • Other duties as requested by the Patient Administration Manager/Supervisor
