Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for analysis and reporting of monthly actuals, monthly forecasts and annual budgets, P&L and balance sheet/recs, variance analysis, amongst other tasks.

Description

Reporting to the Finance Manager, CAE Oxford Aviation Academy the successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the analysis and reporting of monthly actual results, monthly forecasts and annual budgets by entity for all operating sites.
  • Analyse management accounting information for all operating sites, ensuring accuracy of month end accounts, including responsibility for:

o P&L and balance sheet reviews, understanding and variance analysis for each entity

o Preparation and presentation of monthly site governance finance packs for each entity

o review of all journal entries (posted by other team members) across the global operating sites

o review of all balance sheet reconciliations (prepared by other team members) across the global operating sites

  • Complete monthly HFM reporting schedules and packs for corporate submission for all operating sites, adhering to required deadlines
  • Co-ordinate and submit monthly forecasts and annual budgets for all operating sites, and be able to clearly understand and explain variances from prior month submissions. To include:

o co-ordination and review of departmental actual / forecast reviews with cost centre managers.

o liaison with operating site leaders, finance and non-finance personnel.

  • Be responsible for goodwill and intangibles monthly balance sheet reconciliations and annual impairment reviews / discounted cash flow models
  • Lead and co-ordinate the statutory audit / financial statements processes for the global operating sites, where statutory accounts are required to be filed.
  • Support internal and external audit fieldwork and the actioning of findings
  • Be the primary Finance point of contact for all operating sites.

o Be able to travel to Phoenix, USA on at least a quarterly basis and be able to work flexibly to enable involvement in regular operational calls with Phoenix management in the early evening.

  • Propose and help to drive the implementation of process and reporting improvements across relevant processes and models across.
  • Support the work of other Finance team members as required

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and a qualified accounting certification (ACA, etc).
  • Extensive relevant experience as a financial analyst, assuming responsibilities of accounting and analysis for an IFRS reporting entity or auditor, including operating in a high governance environment.
  • Ability to communicate finance concepts clearly to non-finance department leads.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation team structure
  • Capable of working on projects autonomously and pro-actively.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Business-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven superior computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to show adaptability in a dynamic environment and challenge the status quo.
  • Focus on process analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise and work well under pressure

Job Offer

£45,000-£55,000 per annum + benefits
