Our client is a leading maritime shipping company located in London's West End, a short walk from Oxford Circus. Due to an acquisition, and general growth across the accountancy team, an opportunity has arisen for a Shipping Accountant to join the team.

Description

Located in London's West End, our client is looking for a Shipping Accountant with responsibility for the following duties:

* Maintaining accounting records for a number of UK and German companies, including the following:
o raising sales invoices;
o processing cash transactions;
o weekly bank reconciliations;
o setting up payments and payment runs;
o month end journals including prepayments, accruals, depreciation etc.
* Reconciling KPIs to the voyage management system each week and investigating differences;
* Preparing weekly summary of outstanding debts and liaising with the commercial and operations team to chase;
* Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts pack for all the entities that he/she is responsible for;
* Preparing the sub-group consolidation and management accounts for the German sub group;
* Working closely with the German team (Financial Reporting Manager & Commercial Manager) for reporting purposes.

Profile

The ideal candidate MUST HAVE WORKED FOR A SHIPPING COMPANY IN ACCOUNTS PREVIOUSLY

Job Offer

Salary of £25,000 to £35,000
