We are currently seeking a Trainee Accountant, who is also interested in pursuing an accountancy qualification to join our rapidly growing team on a training contract. The successful candidate is required to service our large and diverse client portfolio which includes companies in industries such as Aircraft leasing, technology, Media, pharmaceutical, on-line sales, hospitality and other.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • Have an honours degree (2.1 minimum)
  • Be ambitious and committed to pursuing a career in accountancy
  • Be proficient in understanding of accounting principles
  • Be capable of working on your own initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (in particular MS Word & Excel)
  • Have the ability to prioritise between tasks
  • Be a team player

DESIRABLE

  • Some industry experience in an accounting role
  • Systems experience – Sun, Oracle, Quick-books, Sage or other accounting packages
  • IFRS and GAAP accounting principles

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Processing of supplier invoices
  • Processing of bank payments and receipts
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Liaison with client on account issues and queries
  • Processing of employee expenses
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed assets register
  • Management of Debtor & Creditor Ledgers
  • Liaison with payroll and VAT departments
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations and close-off
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements under GAAP & IFRS
  • Preparation of iXBRL tagged accounts for submission to the Revenue Commissioners
  • Other ad hoc duties as required by management
