Finance Analyst

On behalf of a business based just outside of Newbury I am recruiting for a Graduate Finance Analyst to join their incredibly stable and supportive finance team.

Description

The successful applicant for this permanent role will get exposure to the following key tasks:

• Support senior financial controller with month end processes
• Stock Reconciliations & reporting up to group
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce weekly and monthly sales and margin reports
• Attend planning & strategy meetings with the wider business.
• Quarter end requires further reporting for business reviews. This person will need to liaises with the marketing and sales business partners to understand spend variances and then produces commentary on P&Ls
• Work with the external accountants to prepare and fill VAT and Tax returns

Profile

The successful candidate will be:

• At least part-qualified, qualified by experience, or working towards a qualification in a relevant professional accounting body
• Experience of working closely with business teams in a "business partner" capacity
• You must have a good grounding in accounting fundamentals (month end balance sheet, journals, accruals etc) and be keen to move to a more Commercial Analysis role or be currently in a Financial Analysis role.
• Have excellent analytical skills with good attention to detail
• Be self motivated with a proactive approach
