Description
Accounts Assistant Responsibilities and Duties:
Purchase Ledger
- Checking invoices received against delivery notes daily
- Preparing invoice files per store
- Entering invoices and making sure to allocate each invoice to the correct nominal code and store
- Separating out any discounts/credits/refunds
- Checking suppliers paperwork with weekly reporting
- Entering suppliers statements for VAT purpose 0%, 5%, 20%
- Arranging supplier's statements alphabetically
- Arranging suppliers payments as per credit terms
- Preparing creditors analysis
- Preparing weekly Stock Reports
- Preparing weekly wholesalers purchase analysis
Sales Ledger
- Receiving daily cashing up slips from stores and cross checking these
- Following up with stores immediately regarding any discrepancies
- Entering weekly sales
- Preparing a weekly debtors analysis
Banking and credit cards
- Checking daily bank and credit card transactions
- Analysing and optimising banking and credit card charges
- Banking and credit card reconciliation
Communication with suppliers
- Attending to emails
- Following up with suppliers for invoices/credit notes
- Following up with suppliers for statements
Payroll
- Assisting processing payroll, PAYE, pensions
- Updating P35 summary

Accounts Assistant Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
- Good basic excel skills and ability to develop current reports and processes
- The ability to work in a team
- Trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
