The Group Bookkeeper's role in the firm's accountancy function is to meet the accounting requirements of various activities due to restructuring of department. In this role, you will be utilising your technical accounting expertise to provide the support for the USA and German offices.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Group Bookkeeper:

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate accounts for group smaller operations

  • This includes maintaining Fixed Asset, Accounts Payable, Prepayments, Accruals and Cash ledgers

  • Ensuring all US and German disbursements are loaded into practice management system as well as accounts system

  • Processing overheads invoices and process and post invoices to the Accounting system (Access) ensuring that the authorisation process is followed in accordance with specific policies and deadlines

  • Processing bank and BACS payments to suppliers and send remittance advices

  • Input to Access all bank payments for US and German offices and allocate them

  • Prepare and montaging payroll schedules and journals for US and German offices

  • Processing all US and German related credit card payments on to accounts system

  • Managing the firm's expense management system (aCloud)

  • Complete month reconciliations including bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for German and US offices

  • Interface with local management to deal with all financial queries

  • Manage cash flow for Germany & US offices

  • Liaise with local accounting and tax advisers and with group Financial Controller to ensure all statutory and tax reports are prepared and submitted on time (including VAT)

  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues, disbursements and expenses

  • Assist Credit Controller to ensure effective Credit Control

Profile

The ideal Group Bookkeeper candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • Experience in preparing US and German accounts

  • US GAAP

  • Knowledge of intercompany transactions.

  • Strong IT skills (Knowledge of Access Dimensions)

  • A team player with a flexible 'hands on' approach

  • Ability to recognise potential risks to the firm that should be escalated

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong organisational & time management skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Background in professional services

Job Offer

Looking to offer between £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience with a comprehensive benefits package.
