The Assistant Finance Manager role sits within the Business Finance team focusing mainly on the contract with one of the business's Key Clients. The primary responsibility will be to act as business partner where the role will be to support and manage the financial and commercial aspects of the contract and working closely to support & hold accountable the relevant project managers.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Manager:

Drive Monthly reporting and quarterly forecasting process, ensuring variance between budgets, forecasts and actual results are understood, clearly explained and necessary actions are implemented
Support month end revenue recognition process, performing necessary analysis and feeding back results in a clear and concise manner
Maintaining billing rates in finance system and updating with annual indexation changes across all 4 contracts
Review and analyse project performance (including income, working capital and change control)
Involvement with working capital processes, including monthly invoicing (support the preparation of billing information for all contracts) and weekly update and review of clients debt report with is the reported weekly to Credit Control and the Operations Director
Monthly preparation and presentation of financial metrics to the contract leadership team
Manage inter-discipline and inter-regional relationships
Review and implement improvements to processes and systems, particularly on forecast and budget models

Profile

The successful Assistant Finance Manager:

Experience working well within a busy team, is proactive, takes ownership and has a finance background.
Demonstrate a strong attention to detail, organisational skills, effective analysis and application of appropriate business controls
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential
Preferably candidates will be from a professional services background and currently studying for an accountancy qualification
Advanced Excel - Pivot tables, V-Lookups, SUMIFs
Experience of Agresso/general ERP systems is preferable

Job Offer

Looking to pay between £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience with a comprehensive benefits package.
