Description
Within this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting, reporting and planning activities for a core UK business within Tata Steel Europe; ie. the main Strip UK operation. Typical activities include consolidating, understanding and explaining the business result, taking a lead role in working with senior Business Partners on judgemental provisions and subjective areas, managing the businesses balance sheet reconciliation process and external audits, co-ordination the completion of the business's Annual Plan, managing key elements of stock provisioning, key performance indicator and ad hoc reporting and explanation of business performance. You would also be expected to take a lead role in identifying and implementing opportunities for standardisation through comparing current practices across the businesses.
Within the above roles, due to the centralisation of the function, you will need to develop and maintain effective working relationships with nominated internal and external customers to facilitate achievement of service levels and KPIs by becoming primary point of contact for Business Partners within specific businesses
Profile
In order to be considered, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and candidates should be qualified with a recognised accounting professional body or Qualified by Experience through extensive work in relevant roles. Candidates must be capable of demonstrating business acumen and the ability to translate key physical factors into financial outcomes using a broad financial understanding. For this reason, experience of variance reporting and manufacturing experience are very beneficial.
