Accountant

Your new company

We are a small dry cargo ship operating and broking company with long serving employees.  Due to recent changes within the finance and admin team we are looking to recruit a qualified accountant or an accountant qualified by experience, with at least 5 years’ experience to join our team.

Your new role

Our small team covers all aspects of finance and admin so you must be prepared to undertake any functions required, from entering journals to drafting the financial statements.  Knowledge of preparing consolidated accounts would be an advantage.   You will be expected to be involved in all elements of day to day finance through to preparing monthly management accounts and year end financial statements for external auditors.  The reporting currency is USD.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in accounts with proven knowledge of  both monthly and year end accounting/reporting and audit as well as experience of working in a multi-currency business environment.  Additionally, you will have good working knowledge of Sun Systems and Excel.   

You will need to be a well organised individual used to working with manual processes and a fast learner with the ability to absorb information quickly and prepare accurate reports.
