Role overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre senior finance professional to work in an ‘all round’ Finance Director role as our business takes on board VC funding and evolves through a period of significant growth.
We are looking for a candidate who can bring extensive experience of finance leadership within a Saas and / or adtech business with significant experience of financial modelling and support a Series A fundraise.
You will be able to work seamlessly within a small and growing team, be experienced in setting up and managing the accounting, controlling and business modelling for a young and funded business. You will enjoy rolling up your sleeves and working in a fast paced, highly commercial environment that requires a flexible approach.
You will be able to match opportunity with funding, have a mastery of working capital and be able to work across multiple stakeholders from internal, to clients to VCs. You will be at the nexus of financial intelligence used to run a business and will need to be able to make well informed decisions, often on the hoof whilst providing executives, investors, clients and creditors with reliable and coherent forecasts and reports when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an advisor to the board and senior management on strategic opportunities / issues related to investment and investor engagement

Oversee our accountants to deliver consolidated management and statutory accounts

Produce monthly P&L, cash flow & forecasts reports for VC, board and the management team

Ensure timely and accurate financial and management reporting and make current processes around month end closing and audits more efficient and effective

Line Manage a book keeper, providing guidance and support as required

Act as a senior management advisor on commercial issues including client and
supplier contracts

Work with the sales and account management team on revenue forecasting and targets

Optimise the financial management software package in the provision of management information

Compile monthly reports for the board including sales forecast, P&L, cashflow and balance sheet, providing commentary and recommendations enabling management to make informed business decisions

Implement and continuously review robust financial processes and controls to ensure smooth turnaround of month end figures
Requirements:

Qualifications: previous work in a equivalent financial role for at least five years - essential

Experience in a financial role in a high growth business - essential

Experience working in marketing, Martech or SaaS businesses - preferable

Experience of the Xero accounting platform - preferable

Experience supporting in businesses through a funding process - preferable

Strong proven critical strategic thinking, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities simultaneously.

Proven experience of implementing & improving financial processes.
