Our client is a major international banking powerhouse. The primary focus of the role is to deliver analytics capabilities to businesses across commercial and institutional banking. The individual will assist the Director of analytics in the end to end development, deployment, monetisation, periodic performance assessment, recalibration and redevelopment of the identified analytical opportunities.

  • Engage various Group/Regional/Country stake holders within the corporate and institutional banking (Global Banking, Product partners, COO function, and Portfolio Management function) to discuss and agree on the design of the various advanced analytics projects.
  • Implement the methodology for the forward-looking and lifetime elements of the entity life cycle to produce analytical models that identify growth opportunities, risks, improvement in returns, while ensuring consistency with the model ecosystem
  • Design and discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data in the banks enterprise data infrastructure. Analyse data to discover trends/patterns and develop statistical algorithms that address the business need. Research and develop analysis, machine learning techniques, time series methods and optimization methods
  • Contribute to developing the analytics infrastructure to embed macroeconomic forecasts, external data modelling outcomes, including the time series modelling for forward simulation.
  • Employ big data to model complex interactions, to discover patterns and identify opportunities through the use of statistics and data mining techniques.
  • Support on the deployment of the initiatives including implementation though any system
  • Review performance on agreed periodic interval
  • Create and review technical documents for approval
  • Migrate best practices

Successful candidate will have;

  • Academic and Professional Background: Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics (Masters a plus)
  • 10+ years of Statistical modelling, Quantitative Analytics, data management, analytics or related discipline
  • Exposure to working with the various business functions, data infrastructure & transaction processing systems
  • Proficient statistical programming skills in SAS (and other statistical software a plus), strong analytical skills and understanding of quantitative and statistical analysis
  • Ability and experience in data manipulation, data mining, understanding of relational databases, dealing with very granular data - preferably from a Hadoop, HIVE data storage platform
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Sound demonstration of using data to draw insights
  • Proficient in leading IT projects and strong in verbal and written communication to business and management
