Senior Audit Manager and Head of Corporate Audit Services in Ireland The Senior Audit Manager will be the head of the Corporate Audit Services group based in Ireland This person will be responsible for leading the local audit group in Dublin, Ireland. This will include annual Audit Planning, supervising Risk & Control Design Assessments, supervising Control Performance Effectiveness work and Summarization of Results in accordance with Corporate Audit Services policies and procedures, leading interactions with local regulators and supervisors, leading interactions with the EFS external auditors, and attending key management committee meetings as part of continuous monitoring. Under the direction of the Audit Director based in the United States, the Senior Audit Manager in Dublin is expected to complete the audit plan as approved by the Elavon Financial Services Audit Committee for their respective area of responsibility. This is a cross-functional role that requires a high level of coordination and effective communication between EFS local management, business line and second line management based in the United States, and CAS team members in the United States. This Senior Audit Manager will be responsible for the above activities mostly as it relates to Elavon Financial Services Designated Activity Company, which is an Irish credit institution subsidiary of U.S. Bank. Elavon Financial Services is headquartered in Loughlinstown and has operations in the following EU jurisdictions: Ireland, United Kingdom, Norway, Belgium, Spain, Germany, and Poland. What you will do: · Lead local Corporate Audit Services team based in Dublin this includes ongoing interaction with the EFS Audit Committee, EFS Chief Executive Officer, EFS Chief Operating Officer, and EFS Chief Risk Officer · Ensure connectivity back to and coordination with the larger Corporate Audit Services department based in the United States including the Payment Services team, Payment Services Audit Director, and Chief Audit Executive · Leads completion of the EFS Audit Plan including proposing any changes needed to the audit plan to appropriately address ongoing changes in the business and regulatory requirements. · Interact with local regulators and other key regulatory stakeholders · The primary client contact throughout the audit process for senior management at EFS. · Supervises the local audit team during all audit phases. This includes reviewing and approving sampling rationale and test design. In addition, oversee, coach, and mentor employees based in the United States for relevant projects and tasks. · Identifies and works with audit team and senior management to determine course of action for potential issues. · Responsible for personnel management of the assigned team in accordance with Human Resource Policies including performance evaluations, career development, training, and recruiting. · Manages chargeable hours of the assigned team · Performs other duties as requested by the Audit Director · Ten years + in an Audit Manager role or similar. Personal Characteristics: 1. The candidate should have unquestionable integrity, objectivity and probing inquisitiveness with ability to management multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. 2. Expert ability to analyze a complex set of data and extract information critical to identifying and communicating the inherent and residual risk to the business line. 3. Excellent persuasive communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with staff and senior management during the presentation of audit findings and recommendations. 4. The candidate should possess proficient business knowledge of their assigned area of responsibility. 5. The candidate should possess audit expertise with respect to: inherent and residual risks and the identification thereof; internal controls and the design of control environments including assessments thereof; control performance effectiveness testing including interpretation of results; sampling techniques including documentation of sampling rationale; and internal audit standards and techniques. Qualifications Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or Honours (Level 8) degree equivalent with emphasis Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management MIS or related discipline - A combination of at least ten years progressive experience in public accounting, financial institutions internal audit or risk and controls consulting. - At least five years of management experience - Professional Certification such as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor · High level of expertise of both Irish and European Banking regulations Preferred Qualifications - Proven leadership skills including management and coaching of staff - Advanced knowledge in auditing, reporting and analysis - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously - Relevant Financial Services Industry knowledge (e.g., Operations, Trust, Payment Cards, etc.) including understanding of risk theory, control frameworks, applicable financial services industry trends, laws and regulations; and impact of government legislation and regulation on business - Relevant Payment Services/Credit Card industry knowledge including merchant acquiring and corporate credit cards - Understanding of international operations and risk associated with an international company and international teams Previous interaction with regulators and senior management Some travel is required - up to 40% including internationally within Europe and the United States Other comments This role has been identified as a Controlled Function under the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness & Probity Regime.
