We are looking for ambitious, outgoing individuals who enjoy working with non-finance stakeholders and love getting involved in process improvement.The Project Accountant will be responsible for supporting the business on a number of change projects to ensure increased levels of automation and reduce the number of manual processes across the organisation.Some key change projects include:Support Fundraising and lead from a Finance perspective to understand areas of income innovation, ensure the business process design is well controlled and effective, test transactions to ensure they meet requirements and make recommendations/feedback results.Building strong relationships within in areas such as digital and IT department, to enable finance to become a key stakeholder in any income innovation projects.Support projects that meet the organisation's aim to 'automate, standardise, simplify or eliminate our processes.Centralisation of accounting processes with the aim to allow Finance Business Partnering teams to add more value to their customers and perform less/no transaction processing activities.Provide finance system support to the Financial Control team and wider Finance Operations group as required in areas such as report production and design and input into the Agresso upgrade project and its continuous improvement as part of the 5 year plan.Setup and own the Operations project board within Financial Control and Operations and act as project owner and stakeholder representing the Group accounting team.Change management ensuring any change in processes are clearly documented and to liaise with key operation staff understanding the new working processes as well as delivering any training needs that have been identified.Deliver overall Group Accounting process improvement identified and the need for continuous "better ways" of working within the team.Key Behaviours and CompetenciesStrong analytical skills to analyse, to interpret and make practical recommendations on complex technical issues.Possess the confidence and experience to put across, influence and agree alternative points of view to colleagues and senior managers.A strong customer services ethos, showing experience of providing service to internal customers, meeting agreed service levels.The ability to work independently with minimum supervision.Commitment to accuracy and getting the job done within strict deadlines.Ability to think imaginatively and creativelyWe are looking for a qualified accountant for this role. The successful candidate will have experience in, and will enjoy, leading change projects that improve financial transaction processes and controls.
