Finance Officer- Rents and Service Charge
My client housing association in South London is looking to recruit a Finance Officer- Rents and Service Charge. The role will pay £15 per hour. The post holder will have the responsibility for controlling the financial procedures around service charges, rental income, invoice generation, collection of non-rental incomes; to process and record payments, assisting with end of month procedures and to act as cover for other finance staff in the team, in particular for purchase ledger and IT. Key Responsibilities: Service Charges Preparing service charge schedules for each property: For budget purposes, to be sent to tenants at rent review date For yearend purposes, to be sent to the tenants by 30 September following year end Processing adjustments to service charges in respect of applying variable charges Lead on production and distribution of service charge statements and letters to tenants Liaise with operational staff in respect of correct budget setting for income and expenditure Dealing with queries from tenants and staff Monitoring input from purchase ledger into the service charges Working with the finance assistant to ensure accuracy of coding of the service charge-related invoices Rents Process weekly rent debit including changes to tenancy/unit details Posting and dealing with rent receipts, adjustments, write offs/ins and rent/housing benefit refunds. Responsibility for maintaining the housing benefit/supported people entitlements in the housing management system Taking rent payments and set up direct debits when required Processing the annual direct debits increases based on the annual rent increases. Terminate and create tenancies on the housing management system as appropriate Producing reports in accurate and timely manner Reconciling rent control accounts If you have the relevant skills and experience, then please do not hesitate to apply for this role.
