  • Core Responsibilities:

 Providing Support to Relationship Managers for client calls and business origination meetings. The ACM shall work on collecting and gathering required financial and other customer information in order to facilitate the initial screening of prospects to determine eligibility.
Conducting the initial screening of prospective clients to determine eligibility and financing need based on ITFC's Credit Risk Guidelines and the Rules and Regulations for Structured Trade Finance.
Recommend appropriate security and covenant packages for the Relationship Manager to devise suitable financing structure (STF, Credit Insured, etc.) for the prospective clients, and based on the initial screening,
Preparing the pre-deal papers to seek clearance on the proposed financing structure and contribute to the preparation of the initial terms & conditions (IT&C) to be sent to the prospective client.

In coordination with the Relationship Manager, conduct detailed due diligence visits, in-depth discussions with management, inspection of company plants and facilities, and obtain all business and financial related information to enable comprehensive risk assessment and formulation of sound credit opinion on the client.

Working with the Relationship Manager to draft Credit Memorandum (CM) for STF transactions as well as for Unsecured / Credit Insured Transactions by providing detailed credit analysis on prospective clients to evaluate their industry risks, business risks, financial risks as well as structure risks and determine their credit worthiness. On STF transactions, the ACM shall contribute to the drafting of the CM by providing the financial analysis, the risk matrices, financing Structure, flow charts, transaction flows, and any other relevant materials for presentation to Internal committees.


Ensuring that all deals are structured in sound and robust manner and in compliance with ITFC's rules & guidelines as well as uphold the principles of Islamic Finance.
Presenting prospective STF/Unsecured/Credit Insured deals to internal Committees jointly with Relationship Managers and working to secure timely approval for effective implementation and smooth disbursement.

Ensuring regular and close monitoring of the assigned portfolio by updating financial information on quarterly basis and conducting covenant testing at the required periodic intervals.

  • Specific for STF Transactions:

Liaising with the concerned Relationship Managers in order to ensure thorough follow up with ITFC clientele to secure the required documentation for creating the facility.
Recommending a reliable and reputable collateral manager with knowledge and experience in handling a specific commodity in a specific region.
Reviewing commodities insurance policies (for all risks: marine, inland, transit, storage etc), collateral management agreements and facility / monitoring agreements in order to ensure complete transaction soundness, safety and security.
Liaising with the Middle Office in order to ensure that there is complete and accurate insurance policies coverage (including commodities relevant clauses) and validity during the life cycle of the transaction in order to safeguard ITFC interests and mitigate operations and financial risk.
Reviewing and approving the invoices before dispatch to clients; and release instructions before intimation to collateral managers, as prepared by Transaction Specialists.

Implementing the commodities liquidation process, as needed, by coordinating with enlisted trading houses and commodities brokers, in consultation with the Commodities Analyst.
Implementing the Transaction Scoring Model on the portfolio handled and monitoring performance on a regular basis.

  • Review and Compliance

Monitoring ITFC's Commodities portfolio by tracking the price changes of commodities in global marketsin order to maintain exposure limits as specified in STF Rules & Guidelines. Liaising with the Commodity Analyst to remain up to date on developments in the global commodities market, and identifying the implications on ITFC's STF portfolio.

Monitoring the progress of transaction implementation in order to ensure that corporate policies and internal controls are being applied. Ensuring compliance with STF Rules & guidelines for ongoing STF transactions (e.g. monitoring stock levels, commodity prices, insurance validity & paid premiums, adequacy of security margins, CMA validity & duration). Responding to alerts highlighted by the Transaction Specialist and initiating corrective action, as required.

Updating STF Rules & Guidelines on a regular basis in order to identify loopholes and rectify any nonpractical clauses that may create operational difficulties, while ensuring that risk concerns are suitably addressed.

Specific for Unsecured/Credit Insured Transactions:

  • Spreading financial statements, performing credit risk rating using internally developed scoring model, and conducting industry research to be used for the drafting of a risk focused credit report to support the approval of unsecured/credit insured trade financing facilities.
  • Perform periodic credit review (quarterly & annual reviews) to ensure no deterioration in financial standing of the clients, perform updated risk rating, covenant compliance testing, and prepare brief credit updates to support approval of facility roll-overs and revolving.
  • Regularly monitor the portfolio of assigned clients to ensure an acceptable risk profile is maintained throughout the life of the financing facilities.

  • SECTION IV: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Economics
Graduate Degree in Business, Finance or Economics preferable

English and Turkish are compulsory
Russian is a plus

For graduates: Minimum 7 years overall
For post graduates: Minimum 5 years overall

Having a formal credit training/certification from a commercial bank will be an advantage.
