Our client is a large and global industrial conglomerate.

For this role, you will report to the CFO and manage a team. You will provide support and assist in the implementation of the organisation's tax policies/strategies to optimise the tax liability for the company with the objective of ensuring that they comply with all relevant local and international tax laws and regulations.

Your work will include:

Tax Strategy and Planning

•Directs implementation and improvements to tax strategies, policies, procedures, providing technical advice and review on the current work flows to improve efficiency in tax preparation and execution

• Overseas the development of processes for filling tax returns, tax declarations, preparation and submission of tax returns, tax declarations, maintenance of tax records and correspondence with external tax agencies or consultants

•Drives the development and implementation of policies and strategies to enable optimisation and limit tax liabilities and oversees formulation of tax advices, directives and internal instructions

Tax Assessment and Transfer Pricing Policy Execution

• Oversees tax relief and drives periodic reviews to specific tax exposures or potential tax risks and the preparation of risk report for management review

• Conducts research and planning on current tax laws and advises senior management on the tax impacts of current and propose company activities and transactions

•Oversees the preparation of tax provision schedules and ensures the adequacy of tax provisions for tax exposures and reviews basis for withholding tax, mandatory contributions and fees calculation

•Reviews debt financing and deployment of funds to ensure that expenses are tax-deductable

• Oversees various corporate tax returns, year-end tax accruals and communication with appropriate governmental agencies and legal department for tax related matters

Tax Accounting and Compliance

•Oversees the completeness and effectiveness of control objectives and standards to ensure compliance with tax rules and regulations and reporting requirements

•Establishes and maintains relationship with external government agencies (e.g. EDB, IE Singapore, etc) for the management of tax incentives, tax audits (e.g. IRAS)

•Oversees tax audits and other dealings with IRAS, including tax authorities in countries with JVs/associates/Subsidiaries, providing solutions to disputes

•Reviews technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with financial accounting policies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or any related discipline
  • Around 12 to 20 years of experience in taxation in a multinational manufacturing company or in tax management consulting
    Prefer cands with tax managerial exposure to larger listed companies or conglomerates
  • Strong on corporate tax with good tax planning/advisory experience
  • Open to being based in the West part of Singapore
  • Has good regional/global tax knowledge covering USA, Brazil, India, Indonesia, China and UK tax regulations and legislations
  • Hands-on despite being senior
  • Strong in coaching and leadership skills
