Based in Leederville
Play a key role in the continuous provision of safe drinking water to Western Australia
About the role
Water Safety Plans (WSPs) are the Corporation's key Drinking Water Quality management process documentation; they describe the water supply system, identify hazards, assess risks and determine control measures. Reviewing WSPs is best carried out by an enthusiastic engineer or scientist experienced in water supply or water quality management or with transferable skills. This role is based in Leederville and will report to the Team Leader Water Safety Planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Review water supply schemes to understand how the system works; includes interrogating IT and mapping systems for information
Identify hazards and undertake risk assessments in drinking water schemes and develop risk controls
Review and analyse water sampling data
Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
Promote drinking water quality management within the Corporation
Provide technical advice on water quality issues as needed
Occasional regional travel may be required to meet the business needs
Skills & Experience
Degree level qualification in relevant engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent
Relevant experience or knowledge of water supply systems hydraulics and treatment or transferable experience
Experience in risk assessment and data analysis
Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and the Framework for the Management of Drinking Water is highly desirable
