Description
- Manage a portfolio of clients and provide a full range of bookkeeping services including:
- Sales ledger and purchase ledger
- Ccredit control
- Trial balance
- VAT returns
- EC Sales Lists
- CIS returns
- You will maintain a full and accurate audit trail by filing and referencing documents in a timely manner
- Meet deadlines and time budgets as necessary
- Advise line manager of any outstanding issues
- Complete VAT returns for allocated clients
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the client
- Liaise with clients to ensure all records and documents received in a timely manner
- Highly competent in double entry bookkeeping, reconciliation of control accounts, dealing with fixed asset additions and disposals and depreciation; lease and HP contracts, posting journals
- Drawing up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)
- Collate and analyse data and generate financial report
- Processing information for VAT returns and submission as required
- Producing monthly management accounts on an ad hoc basis
- Ensure year end files are complete with back up schedules
- Scanning of client records and related documents
Profile
The Candidate:
- AAT or ACCA qualified or part qualified
- Currently working in an accountancy firm.
- Competent in taking accounts up to trial balance for sole traders, partnerships and company accounts. to review stage based on incomplete books and records - the interview process will consist of questions to establish the level of competency in accounts preparation from incomplete books and records.
- Knowledge or personal tax returns is an advantage.
- Ability to work closely with Senior Managers/Managers within the group.
- Exemplary team player with a positive, client focused attitude.
- Working knowledge of CCH, Xero and MS Office products, especially Excel.
- Excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills, good spoken and written English are necessary.
- Working to high levels of accurately within defined deadlines.
- Have experience with a good range of client industries and turnovers from £1M and in excess of £5M.
- Demonstrate the ability to satisfy a diverse range of clients to tight deadlines

- Salary paid on a monthly basis in accordance with experience and market rate.
- Half yearly bonuses paid at the absolute discretion of the Board of Directors.
