Senior Bookkeeper

A successful chartered accountancy practice, is searching for a Client facing Bookkeeper & Accountant, to join their team, in a client support role, preparing management accounts, vat returns, bookkeeping, tax and other services. You will carve a key role here, adding value to clients offering.

Description

Joining the firm, as a client facing Bookkeeper & Accountant, based from their Andover offices, you will carve a key, client facing role. Acting for varied sole trader, partnership and limited company SME's and OMB's of varying size and industry sector, you will deliver bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, and other services, to your clients. As you develop within the role, there will be scope to offer a key support facility to clients, as they make the transition with making tax digital, assisting clients with these changes, with the potential for a client facing element to your role, on client site. You will therefore have the potential to carve a key role here and will indeed be encouraged and supported, to develop your technical skills and progress in this successful firm.

Profile

Whilst holding an AAT qualification may be a bonus, if supported by a relevant career history and technical skill set, a strong, relevant, experienced background only, is equally of interest, as well.

You will have anything from 2 - 3 years, or significantly more experience within accountancy, in your career so far, as an accounting technician, assistant accountant, business services senior etc. Individuals with a background working within the accountancy practice sector, for a firm of any size, preparing management accounts, VAT returns, bookkeeping and other services, for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, will be of high interest.

Alongside this, given the nature of this role, you may also come with a career background in commerce and industry, interested in the prospect of transferring your skills into the profession, perhaps attracted by the prospect and challenge, of dealing with wide ranging clients and adding value, supporting them, in a client facing capacity.

To be suitable, if coming from an industry background, you will have wide ranging experience across finance, with demonstrable experience across all areas of purchase ledger, sales ledger, VAT, CIS, payroll etc, so bringing this wide ranging experience. Alongside this, you will ideally be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with outside suppliers, customers and clients and bring the competencies and abilities to deal with clients and indeed enjoy this element, alongside the technical hands on delivery of accounting services.

Job Offer

£20,000 - £25,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable, plus benefits.
