Technical Support Lead

THE COMPANY

My client is an established hospitality, accommodation and facility management business who provide services to various industry sectors (including mining, education, government, health and aged care businesses) across Australia.

THE ROLE

As the IT Support Lead you will be part of a close knit team of 4, managing a support desk across network, hardware, system and applications for 500+ users. You will be driven to lead processes across the IT department, including:

• Setting up new virtual machines using VMWare;
• Maintenance and support of the Active Directory;
• Configuration and troubleshooting of networks;
• Backup and restore strategy and maintenance.

Required Technology experience:

• VMWare
• Windows Server
• Microsoft stack - AD, Outlook, Exchange
• Storage and backups
• Routing / switching
• Firewalls and VPN's
• Avaya phones (desirable)

A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?

To be successful in this role, you will have motivation to move into a lead position and demonstrate excellent capabilities across problem solving and technical aptitude. Expectations include:

• 2-3 years experienced IT Support Analyst who is looking to take a step up in to a team lead role;
• Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal);
• Strong experience supporting a Windows environment, hardware support and software support, someone who has been involved with sourcing and strategy.
• Experience liaising with suppliers/vendors
• Experience within a small team environment and therefore has a breadth of experience, responsible for multiple areas of IT Infrastructure Support.
