Senior Tax Accountant (Head of Tax)

International Life Assurer now has a new role for a Senior Tax Manager to build a new tax team within the wider finance department, as well as being the primary person responsible for the design of appropriate processes to ensure the smooth operation of all company and policyholder tax related issues. As a member of the Finance team, the role holder will manage all local and cross-border taxation issues and obligations in relation to both corporate and policyholder taxes on behalf of the Company: Ensure that the company meets its relevant tax reporting obligations and pays taxes due in relation to all countries in which it operates    Ensure that appropriate tax documentation and procedures are in place in relation to all taxes Assist with new product and market development and identifying tax planning opportunities at policyholder and company level Be the subject matter expert for all tax related matters within the company Monitor changes in tax law / reporting obligations and update the business accordingly It should be noted that this role will require both ongoing or recurring tax compliance and tax planning work (i.e. BAU), as well as the provision of expert tax support to various project initiatives.  In many instances, there will be cross-over between both of these areas. Qualifications - tax qualification and ideally a qualified accountant with at least 5-10 years post qualification experience International Tax Experience gained within the Financial Services Industry, ideally within the Insurance sector.  Applications will also be accepted from candidates with a Pan-European banking background. Controls Focused - Proven track record in implementing  a control focused environment to minimise tax risk Initiative - Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership for all assignments and bring to conclusion.
