Manager of Finance - Atira Women's Resource Society

Position Details:
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
  • Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 per annum (based on experience)

  • Location: Administration Office - Downtown Vancouver
About the Role

The Manager of Finance will provide strategic, high-level financial support to the Executive Director, Internal Systems & Audit by managing Atira's property portfolio finances and ensuring long-term financial stability. This includes budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance oversight for individual properties and the entire portfolio.

This role works closely with senior leadership and property managers to optimize cash flow, manage capital expenditures, and ensure regulatory compliance. The Manager will lead the finance team, refine financial processes, and support investment strategies, all while maintaining strong relationships with auditors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, and forecasting for Atira's property portfolio.
  • Ensure cash flow optimization and effective capital expenditure planning.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting systems and regulatory compliance measures.
  • Provide strategic investment guidance to support Atira's long-term financial health.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to drive operational excellence.
  • Monitor expenses, prepare financial reports, and manage financial audits.
  • Strengthen relationships with stakeholders, auditors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis (preferably in property management)
  • CPA designation required
  • Strong payroll & benefits experience, including team supervision
  • Hands-on experience in monthly financial statement preparation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Strong ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Experience & Assets:
  • Prior experience with Yardi or Sage 300
  • Experience with UKG HRIS & Sage (an asset)
  • Strong coaching and mentorship skills
  • Ability to listen actively, communicate effectively, and build relationships across teams
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence

  • Criminal records review required (submitted by Atira)
