JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for processing, reconciling and filing documents in the Finance Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process daily receipts with precise maintenance of all associated reports;
  • Prepare bank reconciliations based on the agreed upon timeline;
  • Investigate and process customer refunds ensuring the required supports are verified and all associated reports are maintained;
  • Reconcile customer accounts based on investigations and directives from management;
  • Cashier relief duties;
  • Prepare customer letters, statements, and confirmations;
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests;
  • Assist with the investigation of customer queries;
  • Review loan package documents and code appropriately on the accounting software;
  • Process loan payments via salary uploads ensuring the relevant reports are updated;
  • Prepare and issue finance lease invoices, ensuring timely communication with supporting departments;
  • Extract and upload Transunion file and investigate errors highlighted by the credit check provider;
  • Reconcile invoices to purchase orders and process vendor payments;
  • Develop and maintain satisfactory relationships with internal and external Customers;
  • Provide information and feedback to respective departments as it relates to customer requests;
  • Acknowledge and resolve all customer complaints and escalate to the Manager when necessary;
  • Any other duties assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA Level I or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with Finance and Accounting processes.      
  • Banking knowledge and experience would be considered an asset.      
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.      
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
