JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for processing, reconciling and filing documents in the Finance Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process daily receipts with precise maintenance of all associated reports;
- Prepare bank reconciliations based on the agreed upon timeline;
- Investigate and process customer refunds ensuring the required supports are verified and all associated reports are maintained;
- Reconcile customer accounts based on investigations and directives from management;
- Cashier relief duties;
- Prepare customer letters, statements, and confirmations;
- Assist with internal and external audit requests;
- Assist with the investigation of customer queries;
- Review loan package documents and code appropriately on the accounting software;
- Process loan payments via salary uploads ensuring the relevant reports are updated;
- Prepare and issue finance lease invoices, ensuring timely communication with supporting departments;
- Extract and upload Transunion file and investigate errors highlighted by the credit check provider;
- Reconcile invoices to purchase orders and process vendor payments;
- Develop and maintain satisfactory relationships with internal and external Customers;
- Provide information and feedback to respective departments as it relates to customer requests;
- Acknowledge and resolve all customer complaints and escalate to the Manager when necessary;
- Any other duties assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- ACCA Level I or equivalent.
- 2-3 years’ experience working with Finance and Accounting processes.
- Banking knowledge and experience would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
