Are you a skilled and detail-oriented accountant with a passion for driving financial performance and supporting operational excellence? Join SGS Australia as an Operations Accountant and make a meaningful impact on our business operations and financial success. The positions can be based in our office in the Brisbane CDB or at or Head Office in Perth.
As an Operations Accountant, you will work closely with senior leaders and business managers to deliver critical financial insights, streamline processes, and enhance performance. This role is perfect for a motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving.

As an Operations Accountant, you will work closely with senior leaders and business managers to deliver critical financial insights, streamline processes, and enhance performance. This role is perfect for a motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving.
Responsibilities include, however, not limited to:
Business Function
- Partner with the General Manager and Business Managers to enhance financial outcomes.
- Conduct pricing analyses for commercial contracts and support annual pricing review initiatives.
- Monitor international sales transactions and ensure accurate billing processes.
- Prepare and review profit and loss statements, manage accruals, and oversee financial reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for improving financial performance.
- Manage inventory valuation, procurement processes, and global asset tracking.
Finance Support Function
- Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory and internal reporting requirements.
- Support tax reporting and compliance activities in collaboration with the Tax Manager.
System and Audit Management
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and oversee month-end processes.
- Coordinate audit activities and sustainability reporting.
- Prepare transfer pricing calculations and complete ABS surveys.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (CPA preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on process improvement.
