What is Assurance at EY?

Assurance, which incorporates both core audit and other assurance services, includes understanding the key business and financial risks facing our clients and the wide array of markets they operate in.

Audits are the fundamental building blocks of effective capital markets. EY auditors use their knowledge, skills and experience to deliver high-quality audits with independence, integrity, objectivity and professional scepticism. In doing so, they help to support sustainable, long-term value creation.

Our assurance teams collaborate directly with C-Suite and senior management to make more informed decisions. Understand the factors driving business performance and become a more connected, responsive, and insightful professional providing you with the tools to shape the future with confidence.

You will gain a unique insight into how our teams review internal processes, and an understanding of how they design responses to mitigate risk and verify the accounting treatment in all primary statements and disclosures within the financial statements, all whilst complying with company law, accounting and auditing standards.

Training & Development

Joining the EY Assurance Graduate Programme gives you the opportunity to become a fully qualified accountant, where you will refine your talents and enhance your knowledge within your chosen specialism. Naturally, you’ll build up a network of amazing people and be exposed to all sorts of industries through your everyday work.

Throughout the Assurance Graduate programme, you will complete the Chartered Accountants Ireland qualification (ACA), which includes three sets of professional examinations: CAP1, CAP2, and the Final Admittance Exam (FAE).

At EY, we offer world-class learning and development support as you pursue your professional qualifications, including fully paid exam fees and study leave, exam bonus schemes, internal exam support sessions and more.

While there will be a certain focus on building your technical skillset, we also want you to gain the skills needed to manage your workload and create a healthy work/life balance.

This programme is 3-3.5 years in total (depending on your exam exemptions), with many opportunities to stay at EY post-qualification.

If you are already a member of ACCA, you can also choose to pursue any remaining exams you have as part of your training contract with EY. (This route is dependent on the number of exemptions you have achieved).

Upon the completion of the EY Graduate Programme in Assurance, you will, quite simply, be one of the most employable young people in Europe.
