Business Banking (BB) is a key client facing business group within the Commonwealth Bank. The clients of BB include the Banks corporate, regional and agribusiness and small business clients and caters to all product needs including business lending, everyday business banking such as deposits, merchants and payments, share trading & margin lending, home lending and consumer finance. BB Finance is a divisional finance team within the Financial Services division.
BB Finance has dedicated teams to provide financial performance and analysis services to enable effective decision making by various stakeholders.
Do work that matters
Your team is comprised of Finance professionals, who provide core finance and business partnering to the EBB Payments Product Team, specifically focusing on domestic and international payment offerings. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager - EBB Payments Finance.
Together with your team you will play a pivotal role across BB finance and the Payments business in terms of:
- Strong collaboration with colleagues to deliver outcomes for BB Finance and the Payments business
- Delivering monthly reporting requirements to multiple finance and business stakeholders
- Identifying performance optimisation and efficiency opportunities
- Participating in a proactive risk based culture
- Providing meaningful performance insights for the business whilst driving continuous process improvement, achieving an effective governance and control environment, and reporting function.
Some of the key areas you will be providing support include:
- Performance reporting – including coverage of entire Payments P&L and Balance sheet
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Financial control including financial risk control
- Ad-Hoc analytics and financial assessments to deliver better outcomes for Finance and the Business
- Preparation and presentation of monthly performance reports for the Payments Leadership Team.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Commercial analytical ability and experience
- Excellent Financial Control experience
- High degree of problem solving and analytical ability with a close attention to detail
- Self-motivated with an ability to work to deadlines, without supervision
- Sound investigative/probing skills
- Experience in the Financial Services industry would be beneficial
- Ability to collaborate & work as part of a team
- Experience in a busy, time pressured environment
- Post qualified experience
- Degree qualified (business, finance, IT, risk) with post graduate qualification highly desirable
- Accounting qualification – CA/CPA or working towards this
