Finance operations (Fin Ops ) is core to Global Finance and provides a variety of financial support services to In-Country teams across the HSBC Group.   

The current open position is in HSBC Financial Accounting team that involves period end close, accounting controls and balance sheet substantiation, IFRS, FINREP, GSIB & CE reporting  

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of “Manager, Financial Accounting”. 

Principal responsibilities  

  • Ownership of the end to end pre-close, month close & post close activities assigned. 
  • Review and approval of all journals posted in the ledger/MI system. 
  • Preparation & review of B/S, P/L Schedules, final accounts per IFRS/Local GAAP. 
  • Preparation of Analytical Review packs for Regional submission on quarterly basis. 
  • Ensure appropriate hierarchy maintenance/local mapping of respective Business/product/segments per guidance from Global / Regional /Local Finance teams. 
  • Timely & accurate submission of Customer Group financials in Saracen and MI actuals. 
  • Front-end & actively contribute towards strategic initiatives and change management initiatives impacting Service Delivery. 
  • Gain SME knowledge with intent to handle exceptions efficiently & make processes leaner. 
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and execute with agility. 

Requirements 

  • ACCA fully qualified with PER completed. Graduation is mandatory
  • Experience of working with processes involving IFRS/Local GAAP. 
  • In-depth functional experience in accounting for all balance sheet / income statement heads. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of Accounting and reporting principles. 
  • Should be proficient in Financial statement closure procedures 
  • Strong understanding of Financial systems. 
  • Must have keen attention to the detail & strong analytical skills.  
  • Strong Excel and access skills to interpret huge data volumes 
  • Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders cross-border in a multinational organization 
  • Proven track record of leading by example in terms of values and behaviour
