The Role

The role sits within Finance Group Shared Services and is responsible for supporting the Financial Accountant with the Record-to-Report (R2R) operations. This will support the monthly financial accounts for a selection of Charles Taylor operational entities across the EMEA Adjusting portfolio. The incumbent will be expected to support and work closely with their assigned Financial Accountant and Finance Business Partner.

Key responsibilities
  • Working hours to follow EMEA time zone:
1st week of the month: 3pm - 11 pm (month end)

2nd week to 4th week: 12 pm - 8 pm
  • Support the Financial Accountant and finance business partners with general accounting, month-end activities and analysis
  • Posting of journals for example WIP, reclass, accruals, and prepayments
  • Produce monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for the financial accountants review
  • Calculation of intercompany recharges and passing these out to the relevant entities
  • Assist in the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process to ensure robust and timely completion, old balances are investigated and resolved, and that the output stands up to scrutiny for audit
  • Follow the group control framework is embedded and is operating effectively
  • Assist in the Annual Audit preparation
  • Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills
  • Part-qualified accountant - must have commenced study for professional Accountancy qualifications
  • Experience of working in an international / global business
  • Confident and proficient communicator with excellent English language skills
  • Proven ability to perform to a high standard whilst in a hybrid working arrangement
  • Change management mindset and an ability to proactively improve current process and controls.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Highly numerate with strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work under a tight schedule
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) would be useful but not essential
  • Experience of using CMA, SUN or Dynamics would be useful but not essential
