We are seeking a skilled Accountant for our Accounting & Finance department within the Transport & Distribution industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the company through excellent account management and financial strategy.

Description

• Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations
• Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure prompt payment
• Inspect account books and systems for efficiency and use of accepted accounting procedures
• Analyse financial data and report on financial performance
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Recommend strategies to reduce costs and improve financial performance
• Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations
• Continually review systems and processes, making suggestions for improvements where necessary

Profile

A successful Accountant should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
• Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving
