Accounting Officer

We are looking for an Accounting Officer to join our client's team. The selected candidate will be responsible for financial record keeping, daily reconciliations of bank statements, preparing of VAT and similar returns etc. If successful, you will be joining a focused and professional team that encourages continuous learning and career ambition.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a bank offering banking services to international corporate clients and is located in Sliema, Malta.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management accounts.
• Reporting to Central Bank of Malta and replying to queries by CBM.
• Internal reporting to shareholders.
• Vat returns.
• Standing orders.
• Month-end adjustments.
• Posting of Fixed Assets and updating the Fixed Asset register.
• Updating prices of debt securities on a monthly basis.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• At least 3 years' experience in an accounting role.
• Experience in the banking industry will be considered an asset.
• You are computer literate and have a good working knowledge of MS Excel. 
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese.
• You are a team player, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• You possess multi-tasking and analytical skills as well as an eye for detail. 
• You are able to deliver tasks effectively in a timely manner and according to deadlines set. 
• You possess excellent inter and intrapersonal skills. 
• You are able to work under pressure.

EDUCATION

Candidates must have completed at-least 6 ACCA modules.

WORKING TIME

Monday to Friday with flexibility in starting time, from 06:30 till 09:00, 40 hours per week with 1 hour break daily.
