Key Responsibilities

Processes

  • Manage submission of regulatory returns to the Bank of Mauritius
  • Manage regulatory capital requirements and ensure efficient capital management
  • Manage submission of risk-based supervisory (RBS) returns to the Bank of Mauritius

Risk Management

  • Coordinate of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process

Governance

  • Finance representative for the Data Governance meeting and Non-Financial Return reporting forum

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders

  • Chief Financial Officer, Financial Controller, Assistant Manager Regulatory Reporting, Group Reporting Manager, Country Treasury Manager and the Regulator ( Bank of Mauritius)

Other Responsibilities

  • Delivery of the tactical and strategic XBRL automation project (Axiom)

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the banking industry
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of Bank of Mauritius Guidelines reporting requirements
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Excel
  • Ability to use other Microsoft Office tools (Word, Power point)
  • Knowledge in Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process
  • Knowledge in governance

Qualifications

  • A university degree in Accounting or relevant professional qualification in Accounting and Finance e.g. CA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • At least five (5) years work experience in regulatory reporting department of a bank.
  • A sound knowledge of the Group Accounting practice and statutory requirements and all round Banking experience.
  • High level experience in working with computerised Accounting/Banking systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy and strenuous environment.
  • Broad understanding of good banking practice
  • An eye for detail and accuracy with a strong analytical capability.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy is required
  • English as a business Language
