Key Responsibilities
As our Finance Trustee, you will:
- Provide strategic guidance on ISTA’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with our charitable objectives.
- Provide financial insight to the board to support informed decision-making.
- Along with the Board and staff team, ensure compliance with UK charity law, Charity Commission regulations, and best practices.
- Chair the Finance Committee and advise on budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term financial planning.
- Contribute to strategic discussions and organisational planning.
Experience Sought
We are seeking someone with:
- Significant experience in finance, ideally with knowledge of UK charity accounts and governance.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to provide clear, actionable financial advice.
- Independent judgement and a collaborative mindset.
- Passion for arts education and cultural exchange (knowledge of the arts sector is desirable but not essential).
Commitment
This is a voluntary position requiring:
- Attendance at quarterly online meetings (weekends)
- Estimated 5-7 hours time commitment per month
- Occasional international travel to ISTA events to connect with our vibrant community and witness our work in action.
