Make an impact with our Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) team as a Senior Manager (or Manager). This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you’ll ensure clients capitalize on opportunities to receive government support for innovation by identifying eligible projects and navigating the multitude of government incentive programs and funding opportunities available.

Performance Expectations

  • Interface with client finance departments (CFO's, controllers) at Technology, Life Science, and Manufacturing companies conducting leading edge Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) activities. 
  • Review Financial Statements, General Ledgers, Trial Balances and other client source information to maximize the SR&ED tax credits.
  • Interface and work together with MNP's SR&ED team members to prepare SR&ED claims
  • Assist clients in identifying and determining eligible expenditures under the SR&ED Tax Credit program
  • Gather supporting documentation and evidence of experimentation sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
  • Manage multiple clients; deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Interact with peers, clients and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) representatives, as needed
  • Experience in business development and marketing MNP SR&ED services to existing and prospective clients is an asset.

Credentials

  • CPA with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance/accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience such as corporate income tax, financial accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.  
  • Minimum of 4 years of SR&ED experience.
  • Focus on achieving high-quality, timely and profitable results
  • Knowledge of financial service organizations like MNP and their service offerings is an asset.
  • Additional CPA courses such as “In-depth tax program” are an asset
  • Bilingual is an asset (French/English)

The annual salary range for this position is: $110 000 - $175 000. Compensation is determined based on individual skills and relevant experience.
