About the job
This role encompasses various aspects of the regulatory reporting function which are aligned to the Finance and Group Strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data
Collate from within the Group in line with the agreed upon procedures based on established frequencies and timelines; Verify the collated data based on set validations and ongoing monitoring to ensure the dataset is accurate and complete; Communicate amendments or enhancements to data with departments and subsidiaries; Coordinate upgrades and maintenance to the BRS system with stakeholders; Enhance data extractions in line with the reporting requirements; Maintain documentation related to internal procedures, data requirements and system maintenance;
Reporting
Prepare management, regulatory and third-party reports in line with the agreed upon procedures based on established frequencies and timelines; Carry out variance analysis of results with previous periods; Address the prescribed regulatory validations and submit to the regulators by the established deadlines; Communicate with regulators in relation to the reporting sets; Review regulations and guidance documents available on the reporting sets to consistently ensure that reporting is in line with the latest regulatory requirements. Coordinate report requirements with the team, IT, departments and subsidiaries to ensure all required data is available to complete reporting; Maintain documentation related to internal procedures and regulation interpretations.
Secondary Duties:
Assist superiors with one off requests for data as may be required from time to time; Assist the team during the testing period of the banking systems upgrades; Raise operational risk incidents to record any operational risk that might have been identified when carrying out the assigned tasks and responsibilities; Staying adjourned and adhering to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.
Qualifications and skills:
A relevant MQF level 4 or higher qualification in Banking, Accounting, Finance or a related field; Experience in working in EU banking regulation, data analysis and with reporting tools is considered an asset; Working experience in working in an agile environment is considered an asset; Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially advanced Excel; Strong verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English as well as good presentation skills; Strong positive, proactive, self-motivated, can-do attitude; Critical thinker, problem solver with strong time management and organizational skills; Strong attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, multi-country environment; Ability to learn and to adapt to a changing environment; Excellent team player, with strong integrity, confidentiality and professional and industry ethics.
