About the Job
This role is responsible for providing technical expertise to the Regulatory Reporting team on prudential and statistical reporting regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise on the Capital Requirements Regulation and the related regulations, technical standards and guidance notes. Provide technical expertise on statistical reporting, including the BR06 templates, Anacredit, Central Credit Register and the Real Estate templates. Provide technical expertise on other regulations that are managed by the team. Manage the implementation of new or amended regulations across reporting and systems. Monitor the implementation of processes, procedures and additional documentation that might be required to implement the applicable regulations for an effective reporting practice. Continuously strive to improve accuracy and completeness of reporting by reviewing guidance documents and regulations. Communicate and assist management with any queries raised on the prudential metrics or reporting requirements. Coordinate with the team and other stakeholders to ensure necessary data is available to meet reporting requirements. Keep up to date with relevant industry developments. Represent the team in meetings focusing on the regulations managed by the team. Guide team members in communicating with regulators in relation to the reporting sets. Train the regulatory reporting team members and other interested parties on the implementation of the above-mentioned regulations.
Secondary Duties:
Assist superiors with one off requests for data as may be required from time to time. Act as a risk champion within the team to ensure that incidents are recorded when any operational risk is identified. Staying adjourned and adhering to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.
Qualifications and skills:
A relevant MQF level 7 or higher qualification in either Banking, Law, Accounting, Finance or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience working in EU banking regulations, with a solid understanding of the Capital Requirements Regulation. Able to work and adapt in an agile environment. Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Office especially Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English as well as good presentation skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with good time management and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, multi-country environment. Ability to learn and to adapt to a changing environment. Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently, even when under pressure. Excellent team player, with strong integrity, confidentiality and professional and industry ethics.
