As the Senior Manager in Accounting & Tax team, you will be responsible for providing a world class accounting & tax service to our clients in Malta. Since this is a managerial role, you will stand as pivotal team member and assist the team with complex tasks, ensuring TMF’s clients are provided with efficient, professional, and high-quality services which meet all statutory obligations. You will act as trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance while overseeing key operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Holding official client positions under the company CSP license such as directorships and company secretary;
- Advising clients on potential restructuring and incorporation of new set-ups;
- Assisting with accounting and tax reviews (review of management accounts, VAT returns and tax returns) and any arising technical aspects for different business sectors;
- Responsible for planning of deliverables of client portfolio;
- Building client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services;
- Acting as a liaison between potential clients and compliance team;
- Dealing with queries from banks, auditors and other third parties;
- Handling of both internal and external projects - to deal with client queries and manage the various team members to ensure that the task is in hand;
- Review of client operations to ensure that companies are properly managed;
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly for positions held under the company's CSP license. Monitor and implement policies to manage risks related to client operations and directorships;
- Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports and filings, preparing clients for audits, and liaising with regulatory authorities as needed
The successful candidate is analytical and methodical with experience in managing complete accounting lifecycles. Possesses deep knowledge of Maltese accounting & tax regulations coupled with exemplary people skills. Integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills are highly valued attributes.
Ideally, you are meeting following hiring criteria:
- Good knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS, as well as the relevant local tax legislation is compulsory;
- Minimum of 5 years’ previous working experience;
- Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize work and meet deadlines;
- Experience in mentoring and training junior members of the team is preferred;
- Previous experience in multinational and/or service company is an advantage;
- Very good computer literacy, specifically Excel and any of the ERP systems;
- Open-minded, proactive and with problem-solving attitude;
- Ability to communicate and interact well with clients, business partners and colleagues;
- Excellent written and spoken English is a prerequisite
