Key Responsibilities
Stress Testing
- Coordination of stress testing efforts including ICAAP, local regulatory stress scenarios, climate stress testing, etc
- Explain and/or articulate to management the key drivers and insights from stress test results
- Ensure an effective process for collating historical information on P&L, Balance sheet, RWA, Exposure measure and key Pillar 2 risk items for key products and businesses that form the baseline of periodic or annual stress testing
- Requirement to be able to explain/articulate drivers to senior management
- Implement appropriate evidenced based controls on data used for stress testing
- Embed an effective challenge process for inputs received from various teams and stakeholders for stress testing
- Create transparency and clarity around key business risks that emerge from stress tests and detailed reviews of baseline data to feed into management decisions on effective management of these risks
- Deploy scenario analysis to create appropriate business insights
Regulatory advocacy and optimisation
- Review regulatory changes impacting the region and work with various stakeholders to build appropriate advocacy responses to achieve optimal outcome for the bank
- Coordinate regulatory change consultations, industry lobby efforts, business impact assessment
- Perform thematic reviews on and/or deep dives into regulatory requirements to identify appropriate optimisation levers
Governance & Risk Management
- Prepare relevant updates for governance committee meetings (ALCO/RALCO, ERC, BRC, AC, Board, Group committees)
- Coordination of Basel Reform Working Group meetings
- Support adherence to all internal policies and external regulations and establish a robust governance process to evidence compliance.
Team Engagement & Conduct
- Contribute to work climate that promotes team engagement, alignment with group/country strategic deliverables and compliance with Group code of conduct
- Provide an effective oversight over the GFS support team and collaborate with them to make target operating model successful
- Contribute to an agile and growth mindset within the team
Stakeholder Management
- Effective collaboration with other teams (e.g. Risk, Finance, Compliance, Treasury, etc) to meet common team objectives
- Translate complex technical subjects into simple overviews for business and other stakeholder updates
- Optimal outcomes from Internal and external audit engagements
- Optimal outcomes from regulatory engagements
Key Stakeholders
Internal
- Risk & Other risk owners – collaborate to embed an effective stress testing framework as well as regulatory advocacy efforts
- Business Finance and Subsidiary teams – alignment on inputs for stress testing
- GFS – collaborate to run stress testing models for periodic stress testing
- Compliance – regulatory compliance and interpretation
- GIA – Internal audit engagement
- Group/country Treasury Teams – Policy alignment, collaboration and sharing of best practices
External
- Statutory auditors - to ensure that audits are finalized smoothly
- Ratings agency – S&P, Fitch, Moody’s
- Others – regulatory requests
Our Ideal Candidate
- Degree or professional qualification in the Financial Services sector with strong experience in Capital management
- Should have knowledge on Capital and RWA per HKMA rules and Basel standards.
- Should possess basic knowledge of Financial markets products offered.
- Should be conversant with MI tools and generating insights from large amounts of data
- Should be a resilient, self starter with well developed communication & inter-personal skills
- 10 + years of experience including experience in leading and team collaboration
