Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Group Accountant - Consolidation to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the group-wide consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of financial data in accordance with relevant accounting standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in financial consolidation, IFRS, and group accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the consolidation process for the group's financial statements, including preparation, analysis, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidations.
- Ensure accurate consolidation of intercompany transactions, eliminations, and adjustments in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Manage the group's reporting cycle, working closely with subsidiary finance teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for internal and external reporting purposes, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Review and analyze group results, providing insights and explanations of variances between actual and budgeted financial performance.
- Collaborate with external auditors to support the audit process and ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Support management in the preparation of group-wide budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of consolidation and reporting processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in financial reporting standards, accounting regulations, and best practices.
- Provide support on ad-hoc reporting requests and special projects related to group accounting and consolidation.
Profile
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in group accounting, financial consolidation, or related areas.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and experience with group consolidation processes.
- Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to handle large datasets and perform complex financial analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working in a multi-national or multi-divisional group structure.
- Knowledge of other reporting standards (e.g., US GAAP) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues proactively.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges and continuous improvement.
