Role Summary
This is a key leadership role within EMEA; responsible for driving optimized operating models, and resulting service excellence across multiple disciplines and internal bank divisions. The Operation forms a key role in the global service delivery strategy as a core operating hub, consisting of more than 6,500 employees and growing.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ongoing development of the operations hub, supporting State Street’s core operations in an efficient and consistent model that utilizes the latest in digitization; automation and best-practice.
- Directly responsibility for excellence in daily service delivery from Poland, exceeding required KPI standards, for multiple functions across multiple State Street sites.
- Working alongside the Branch Manager and through the Business Continuity Director, ensures ongoing operations resiliency and contingency planning.
- Demonstrates ownership for end-to-end operating model and proactive management of internal upstream and downstream relationships with the goal of meeting / exceeding required client delivery standards.
- Ensures the discipline exists to optimize the integration of newly migrated activities to the location, best leveraging the scale and automation that already exists in the site.
- As a key area of impact/benefit of the organization’s Simplification program, it is critically important that State Street Poland engages in the strategy, execution and results of this initiative.
- Represent State Street, Poland by serving on internal and external committees as well as industry associations.
- Continually evaluate current methods and strategies. Communicate and manage implementation of changes and improvements.
- Responsible for execution of the overall business plan in assigned areas, including management to financial and operational efficiency budgets.
- Accountable for ensuring a positive culture of Risk excellence and Speak Up, Listen Up underpins our operations both in people and process.
- Given the scale of people responsibility, demonstrate strong focus in all aspects of Human Resource management including talent acquisition strategy; onboarding execution; training and development; staff rotation; span-of-control; overtime discipline; turnover reduction; feedback mechanisms; etc.
- Responsible for the direction and training of direct reports and the ongoing evaluation of their managerial performance. Drive proactive development and succession planning across all layers of Operations management.
Scope Distinction & Independent Action
Reporting to the Poland Branch Manager, the focus of this leadership role is to effectively manage a large number of employees in delivering a broad spectrum of operational outcomes to the highest standards across multiple State Street business functions and locations. The role also requires strong collaboration with Global/regional partners for local execution of global/regional operating model strategies.
The COO will engage with peers in our other operations and client service locations to drive standardization , digitization ,resiliency and move closer to the target state of follow the sun operating model and geographical contingency back up and pass the book.
Minimum Job Specifications
- Equivalent to a B.S. degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
- Fifteen or more years of leadership experience, preferably in the financial services organization.
- Detailed understanding of Asset servicing operations
- Ability to effectively manage relationships, both within the company and externally.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to develop business relationships with various levels of management within and outside of the company.
- Strong problem resolution and analytical skills.
- Ability to drive strategic change
- Computer proficient.
