Accounting Manager

Role Location: Ebene, Mauritius

Department: Corporate Solutions

Employment Type: Permanent

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will work on financial tasks to be executed for a portfolio of clients. He/she will be responsible for book-keeping and preparation of management accounts for Irish incorporated SPVs.

Competently carry out duties in a professional manner and in accordance with regulatory requirements, service levels and company standards so as to meet with business expectations, with the support of other members of the team, when required.

Accountabilities and main responsibilities:
  • Preparation and review of financial statements and annual reports where applicable of companies in accordance with IFRS, Companies Act and other relevant GAAP;
  • Preparation and review of managements accounts (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, ad-hoc) and liaise with the client services team/administrators in Ireland to ensure results are released in a timely manner;
  • Provide day-to-day financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures;
  • Liaising with auditors and different regulatory authorities in view of accounting related work;
  • Assist and liaising with clients to keep them updated regarding audit and accounting related work;
  • Ensure all relevant accounting records are maintained/saved in a systematic order on the files as required;
  • Manage and take responsibility of a portfolio of entities;
  • Assist with ad hoc assignments and explore opportunity of any new task or responsibility; and
  • Report to seniors within appropriate timeframe and adhere to internal policies and procedures.

  • Analytical and meticulous attention to fine detail and able to work to tight deadlines;

  • Excellent time and organisational skills to work and meet agreed tight deadlines;
  • Detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills;

  • Quick learning ability to new systems;
  • Organised, accurate and willing to learn and take on new tasks;
  • Computer competencies.

Qualifications
  • A degree in the field of accounting and/or Finance; and/or
  • Fully qualified ACCA.

Experience
  • 5-7 years relevant working experience, preferably in accountancy and knowledge of IFRS
