The Opportunity
This position is based in Mississauga. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. Under the supervision of the Abbott CAHF Controller, this role ensures appropriate integrity and reasonableness of financial data as well as compliance with Corporate/Divisional financial policies and procedures, and profound understanding of GAPP. This role will be key in liaising with Sales and Marketing to assist in preparing the quarterly forecasts and preparing monthly reports.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reporting that supports management’s decision-making process.
- Participate in the quarterly forecasting (LBE’s) processes.
- Provide financial support to sales and marketing.
- Sales analysis and commentary.
- LBE schedules preparation and submission by deadline.
- Hyperion expenses input.
- Sales and Marketing team support.
- Support different projects and implementation.
- Special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Accounting designation is required (CA, CGA, CMA).
- Two to four years previous experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, etc) and financial applications i.e., Hyperion.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Excellent English communications skills, written and spoken.
- Receptive to change and a team player.
- Ability to prioritize and to meet strict deadline requirements.
