We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Business Analyst.

Business: Markets & Sec Services Tech

Principal responsibilities
  • Elicit, capture, and analyse functional and non-functional requirements for accounting for Finance and Product Control businesses
  • Work closely with other business analysts, users and system developers to define data flows and detailed business rules for Accounting systems
  • Prepare and maintain test packs for the applications, and participate in or coordinate project testing in multiple phases (e.g. UAT)
  • Provide inputs to system design and implementation
  • Provide production support on functional specific queries
  • Understand the direction of Finance systems strategic architecture and seek opportunities to accelerate it
  • Understand trade flows and system data flows from front to back, and provide consultation to the team
  • Seek opportunities to make the Finance business processes more effective and efficient across business lines and regions
  • Manage small to medium sized projects as required
Requirements
  • Disciplined approach to requirement analysis with a software engineering background (either at degree level or working for a software company).
  • In-depth understanding of Investment banking products across interest rate, FX, credit and/or equity businesses and their accounting treatments
  • Experience in capturing, analysing and documenting functional and non-functional requirements (>8 years)
  • Experience in successfully delivering large/strategic projects (>5 years) and playing a lead BA role of a project
  • Hands-on SQL writing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and fluently in English, written and spoken
  • Agile, Scrum, and/or DevOps experience
  • Highly developed reasoning and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven fast learner
  • Strong team player
  • Takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution
  • Appetite, enthusiasm and desire to initiate change and execute strategy
Nice to have:
  • Prior experience in implementing projects for Product Control / Finance Systems of an Investment Bank highly preferred
  • Good understanding of IFRS 9 and General Ledger & Sub-system platforms in a banking institution
  • Qualified accountant CA, ACCA, IFRS Diploma with working experience in Financial Control / Auditing / Regulatory reporting areas
  • Certified CFA or FRM highly preferred
  • Understanding of Product Control, Finance and/or Regulatory processes and workflow
  • Understanding of regulatory, legal and compliance initiatives
  • Project management experience and certified PMP preferred
