Job Overview:

The Group Tax and Financial Reporting Team Leader plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and tax compliance for the group. This role involves leading a team of accounting professionals, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring adherence to UAE tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:
1. Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of accounting professionals.
2. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
3. Provide guidance and support to team members.
4. Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback.
5. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. 

Financial Reporting:
1. Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
2. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
3. Analyze financial results and identify trends and variances.
4. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management.
5. Contribute to the annual budget and forecasting process.

Tax Compliance:
1. Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws and regulations, including VAT and corporate tax.
2. Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns.
3. Manage tax audits and handle correspondence with tax authorities.
4. Research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.

Internal Controls:
1. Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and tax compliance.
2. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
3. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Process Improvement: 
1. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems. 
2. Implement best practices in financial report

Desired Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is strongly preferred
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax and financial reporting role in the UAE, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax laws
5. Strong understanding of IFRS
6. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
