Job DescriptionFinance Hub is KPMG's outsourced bookkeeping, payroll and outsourced finance function to private, mid-market and family owned businesses across a broad range of industries; it is designed for businesses of all sizes. Finance Hub is a cloud-technology based solution that offers a range of services to support, supplement and enhance our client’s finance function and financial operations; delivered by a dedicated KPMG finance officer and engagement team. As we get a better understanding of our clients financial operations, it enables us to support them achieve their business goals.
Your Opportunity
With continued growth, we are now looking to recruit a Manager/Finance Manager to join our Finance Hub team in Melbourne.
As a Manager within the team, you will support numerous clients, have accountability for, and undertake the following in a management accounting capacity:
- Play a key role across the full scope of client engagements including regular client contact and collaborating closely with the KPMG tax and compliance team.
- Help manage the Finance Hub team to deliver KPMG’s outsourced book keeping, management accounting and finance functions, including teaching team members how to undertake tasks, review of team member work, and ‘stepping in’ to team member roles as and when the need arises.
- Assist the management team mentor less experienced team members and encourage their continued professional development
- End-to-end AP including processing invoices, uploading vendor payments to banking files, remittance advices, and responding to vendor queries
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) & Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Payroll processing including expense reimbursement management.
- Preparation and review of complex payroll including overtime, terminations and redundancies
- Preparation and lodgement of periodic superannuation and payroll tax reporting and payments
- Preparation and review of superannuation guarantee charge statements
- Periodic bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations
- Assisting in preparing financial information/reports for accountants, on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Assist in preparation of General Ledger reconciliations
- Assist clients transition to automated cloud software systems.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, and cashflow statements
- Support the client’s finance function team
- Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking and inter-company reconciliations
- Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Detailed knowledge of GST and payroll tax

- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- MS Outlook and MS Office Suite (word, excel, etc.)
- Experience with technologies such as Xero, MYOB, Fathom, Castaway, Spotlight, Approvalmax, Ezzybills, HubDoc would be preferable however, not essential.
It would be great if you have obtained certificate qualifications from a recognised TAFE or business college. However, we also recognise experience. If you have had 4+ years’ experience working as a book keeper, we would love to hear from you.
Additionally, if you are about to commence, or are mid way through either the CPA or CA program, we can also support you achieve the qualifications.
