ETF EMEA Product Specialist, Investment Services, Managing Director
The ETF EMEA Product Specialist, Investment Services, MD will have a reporting relationship to, and work closely with, the Head of ETF Solutions in EMEA to help set & deliver on the strategy for the business, participating in the EMEA development of a world-class offering to support the end-to-end servicing needs of ETF product sponsors, acting as the voice of the client within State Street whilst also representing State Street at industry level.
This role will be involved in strategic planning relative to ETF servicing expansion, identifying trends and driving continued innovation of ETF servicing capabilities, acting as a resource for new ETF product development, ongoing ETF product management, & client onboarding, advising management on product structure relative to strategies which State Street may seek to deliver in the exchange traded market place, and liaising with issuers, securities exchanges, authorized participants, market makers, prime brokers, index providers, consultants, legal, audit and other industry third parties effort to stimulate internal expertise and client growth.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in business case reviews for investment consideration and, where approved, supporting analysis to ensure key deliverables and milestones are met.
- Liaise across multiple business units to provide value-add resources needed to deliver a market leading product offering, including custody, fund services, securities lending, etc.
- Collaborate with multiple business units to assess client needs and expectations.
- Observe competitive landscape and market sizing to contribute to overall product strategy.
- Evaluate third-party vendors to assess potential strategic alliances to enhance product offering.
- Plan and execute major development initiatives and milestones by working with ETF Solutions Head of EMEA, Sales, Product, Technology, Operations and other groups to ensure a coordinated service delivery.
- Serve as a spokesperson and represent State Street Investment Services for ETF services offering among industry participants and new and existing clients. Attend and participate in industry related events and tradeshows to maintain visibility and market awareness.
- Support sales and services as needed in regards to the ETF product category, including formal presentations to clients and prospects.
- Recommend metrics on a product functionality scorecard to continuously track and improve product-level financial success, customer adoption trends, product quality metrics, and more.
Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of securities industry (10+ years) and ETF products (5+ years), investment strategies, market trends and competitive landscape. Extensive knowledge of applicable rules and regulations relating to the operation of an ETP structured as either a UCITS, SPV, etc.
- Familiarity with all facets of the exchange traded product market space including, but not limited to: actively-managed, index-backed and with entities including authorized participants, market makers, exchanges and transfer agency and accounting / administration operations.
- Understanding of operational flows and business processes in ETF administration and custody
- Comprehensive knowledge of business administration and management principles and techniques. These include, but are not limited to, knowledge of strategic and operational planning, staff management, legal and regulatory laws, financial and cost analysis.
