What you'll do

As an Assistant Manager, Financial Control, your main focus will be on managing the financial close process for specific products and services, including balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation controls. This will involve overseeing daily interfaces from outsourced providers' systems to the Sainsbury's Bank General Ledger, preparing journals, conducting balance sheet substantiation, and implementing reconciliation controls. You will also support the preparation of monthly management reports, contribute to the design and implementation of financial processes and controls, assist in the preparation of the Bank's IFRS financial statements, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, you will collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements, driving efficiency within the Financial Control function. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure while maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders will be essential to achieving success in this role.

Who you are

You are a highly skilled and detail-oriented finance professional. With your experience in finance operations, reporting, and control, you play a vital role in managing the financial close process for specific products and services, ensuring accurate balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation controls. Equipped with strong numerical and analytical skills, you contribute to the preparation of management reports and financial statements, as well as regulatory and statistical returns. Your proficiency in financial systems, such as Oracle General Ledger, combined with your ability to design and implement effective financial processes and controls, helps drive efficiency and support business change initiatives. With your excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset, you work closely with stakeholders across the bank to deliver high-quality results, all while maintaining a keen eye for detail and meeting tight deadlines.
